Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Services

There are a number of clinics and veterinary hospitals in our area that routinely offer low-cost spay and neuter services without the need for a certificate:

PAWS Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic

The PAWS Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic is located at 2900 Grays Ferry Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19146. The Clinic is open seven days a week but appointments are necessary. To make an appointment, please call (215) 298-9680 then press 0 to speak to the operator. The cost of service is as follows: male cats $50; female cats $60; male or female dogs $90; dogs 40-90 pounds $125; dogs over 90 pounds $175. All spay/neuter surgeries include vaccinations for rabies and distemper. Low-cost vaccinations are also available ($20-$25) on Fridays and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm with no appointment necessary, and are available other days of the week by appointment. PSPCA Rutherford Memorial Hospital

The PSPCA is located at 350 E. Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. To schedule an appointment call 215-426-6300. Animals must be current on all vaccinations at least 3 weeks prior to the spay/neuter procedure. Costs are as follows: male cat $40; female cat $50; male dog $65; female dog $85. The PSCPA also has extensive other veterinary services available.

Hope Animal Resource Center

HARC sponsors low-price, mobile spay/neuter and vaccine clinics for dogs and cats owned by low-to-moderate income Philadelphia residents. Their mobile clinic travels to various Philadelphia neighborhoods once a month. Check the website, www.hopeanimalsanctuary.org for the clinic dates and locations. Prices are as follows: Cat neuter (male cats) $60 ($20 if household income is less than $35,000/year); cat spay (female cats) $75 ($30 if household income is less than $35,000/year); dog neuter (male dogs must be under 30 pounds) $80 ($50 if household income is less than $35,000/year); dog spay (female dogs must be under 30 pounds) $90 ($60 if household income is less than $35,000/year). They also offer low cost vaccines and other services. Advanced registration and $10 deposit are required for all surgical appointments.

The Spayed Club Spay/Neuter Clinic

The Spayed Club's Spay/Neuter Clinic is located at 800 Chester Pike, Sharon Hill, PA 19079. Hours: Monday-Wednesday, animal drop off is 8:00am. Appointments are necessary. All prices include veterinary exam, rabies and distemper vaccines.

The Affordable Spay Neuter Clinic
